2022 Holiday Food Drive

The Latham Park Community will host its fourth annual food drive for Second Harvest of Central Florida food bank during the month of November. Items will be collected daily from 9am – 5pm in the designated bin on the fireplace of the pool pavilion in Latham Park.  If preferred, a financial donation to the Second Harvest Food Bank of Central Florida can be made directly on their website (Feedhopenow.org). Second Harvest is a private, nonprofit charity which collects, stores and distributes food to over 550 partner agencies in six counties of central Florida. A Critical Needs list follows below:

  • Fruits: Canned fruit (in its juice), dried fruit, 100% fruit juice
  • Vegetables: Canned (low salt), 100% vegetable juice, spaghetti sauce
  • Grains: Rice, pasta, crackers (whole-grain), ready-toeat cereal (low sugar/high-fiber), oatmeal
  • Protein Foods: Canned meat/poultry, tuna/salmon (in water), canned/dry bean varieties (low salt), peanut butter
  • Dairy/Dairy Alternatives: Nonfat dry, soy, evaporated milks
  • Cooking oils: olive, safflower, canola
  • Meals: Beef stew, canned soup (low sodium)
  • Baby cereal
  • Baby fruits (single ingredient preferred)
  • Baby vegetables (single ingredient preferred)
  • Powdered infant milk or soy-based formulas (WICapproved preferred)
  • Canned fruits (in juice without added sugar)
  • Canned vegetables (low salt preferred)
  • Shelf-stable foods designed for toddlers such as Graduates, Stage 3
  • Feminine hygiene products
