As folks are undoubtedly aware, there is ongoing road construction at the intersections of Seidel Rd and Summerlake Park Blvd, and Ficquette/Reams/Summerlake, extending up Ficquette Road. Many of us have experienced the repeated impacts to the Quantum Fiber internet (bringing up bad memories of the Seidel widening completion project several years back). Here’s the latest from Orange County on each project:
Crews have made significant progress on utility relocation along Summerlake Park Blvd, but several weeks remain to complete this phase. Use caution traversing the multi-use path along Summerlake, as temporary closures will continue through November.
A traffic shift will soon be in effect on Reams Rd as you approach Summerlake/Ficquette from the South — the thru lane will be closed, with the left turn lane temporarily accommodating both sets of traffic as a shared lane. Please follow any posted signage and use caution in the intersection, and be prepared for delays as motorists adjust to the changes.
The project timelines estimate completion of the Seidel/Summerlake roundabout in Q4 2027, the Ficquette widening + roundabout in Q2 2028, and Reams widening beginning early next year, continuing into 2030.
