Utilities

Water and sewer, garbage collection and recycling are provided through Orange County Utilities: https://www.orangecountyfl.net
Collection Days
  • Wednesday: regular household garbage (green lid) and recycling (blue lid)
  • Thursday: yard waste and large item pick-up

  • Helpful Information
    • Garbage and recycling cans can be put out after 6pm on Tuesday. The trucks have a claw on the front and grab the cans and dump them in the truck. The collection is a one-man job and the drivers don’t generally get out of the truck. That means:
      • Put the cans in the street by the curb at least 2 feet apart
      • Don’t block access with parked cars
      • Don’t put out anything that doesn’t fit in the can (they don’t get out and pick stuff up)
    • Trash and recycling cans must be stored out of sight from the street and your neighbor’s house–in the garage or behind some visible shield (planting, fence, etc.).
    • There is a lot of wildlife in the neighborhood that enjoy getting into trash. Please secure your cans if they are outdoors.
    • When Thanksgiving and Christmas fall on a regular scheduled day, collection will move one day forward for the rest of the week.

Be sure to check the county website for specific guidelines on what items are prohibited as well as recycling details.
Electricity is provided by Duke Energy. The website is www.duke-energy.com.
Natural Gas is provided by TECO. The website is www.peoplesgas.com.

There are two wired internet providers in the neighborhood:

  • Spectrum (cable TV and/or internet) www.spectrum.com.
  • CenturyLink (Internet and/or streaming) www.centurylink.com/home.
    • Latham Park enjoys fiber to the home through CenturyLink which provides great speeds at a reasonable price. However, it has sometimes posed complicated establishing the initial service when calling as their systems may not accurately reflect the fiber network. Be adamant in your discussion, and sometimes hanging up and calling back works. In order to assist with this issue, a few members of the community have created a Facebook group named Latham Park CenturyLink Subscribers
