The deadline to submit your name as a candidate for the HOA Board in the 2022 Election has been extended to Monday, March 14, at 5pm ET! So far, we have 8 candidates for 5 positions, we encourage all interested members to apply! If you would like to run for the board please submit the form online (preferred), by email, or via US Mail. Submissions must be received by the deadline in order to be considered.
I would like to run for the position. Please let me know the time commitment as I am also a board member of non profit organizations and will love to allocate my time appropriately.
Time commitments do vary based on availability. However, we do need someone who can commit to being at every board meeting and an annual budget workshop that lasts a few hours. As far as weekly, personally, I spend 10-15 hours a week answering questions, text messages, phone calls, and emails. As a board member, you will also be designated as a liaison to one of our committees and should try to attend as many of those meetings as possible. As a representative of the neighborhood, many people will approach you, text, and call you asking for assistance or clarification on items. When that happens you will need to write an email to the board, management company, and potentially our general counsel in keeping everyone updated. All in all, I would say it’s definitely a time commitment. There have been many weekends and evenings where I was called out to investigate something and help a neighbor.
