SURVEY: Final Playground Upgrade Options

During the board meeting it was decided to put out the final playground upgrade options to a poll in the community. Please review the options that are on the table and vote in the poll to let us know what you would like to see added to our community playground area. Coordinating colors to the existing green and brown playset will be selected for any new equipment added.

We have added in what the pricing will be to each of these options. All of the options will NOT affect our current dues pricing. The playground upgrade will be paid for with extra money we have had in previous years from not making any enhancements to the playground. Also note that the playground upgrade will NOT stop us from making other community upgrades.

Option One

Option Two

Option Three

Option Four

It was also asked to include the option of not adding anything, choose this if you wish to see no upgrades happen to the community playground.

  1. Confused how this will not increase dues when they just went to up with explanation being the reserves were inadequate. A dollar is a dollar. How about an option 5 rollback our dues.

  2. If you’re doing it 3 seems the best but why does only option 1 have shade when that was the most popular request from the previous survey?

    1. It came down to cost. If the third option is picked, I’m hoping the funds to add shade before the summer 2022 , and just space it out a little.

  3. I was torn between an option that had a picnic table or shade. Shade is very necessary with our weather but would be nice to have a picnic table in the shade for parents.

  4. Would it be possible to do shade AND benches? That seems like the two things that would be best for parents taking their kids to the park.

  5. If the shade structure passes, will it be hurricane rated or the sail removable if we have an impending storm? Of course will not account for the daily pop ups in the summer.

  6. Playground upgrade questions: does the price include tax and installation? How much will our insurance increase for additional structures? How much will the reserve need to increase for these additions? Is anyone concerned about other neighborhoods coming to use our cool playground and parking issues that could occur.

  8. Not sure why my comment/questions have been removed twice… Trying again- Playground upgrade questions to consider – do the prices include tax and installation? How much will our insurance increase for additional structures? How much will the reserve need to increase for these additions? Is anyone concerned about other neighborhoods coming to use our new playground and parking issues that could occur?

  9. I picked option 1 because I feel shade is the most important right now. Shade is most important to me for the existing equipment to be utilized and I like the idea of having swings, I wish it was possible to get a bigger climbing option but I know they are pricey. I believe it is important to make upgrades like this in our neighborhood not just for property values but to enjoy being outdoors in our neighborhood, meeting neighbors and developing relationships. Latham Park is full of young families so I think the playground upgrade is the best place to start with.
